The Michigan Educational Theatre Association serves as the recognized theatre association for students studying theatre in Michigan. Groves is a member of this association, specifically affiliated with Troupe 2296.
Every June, new students are welcomed into the Groves High School theater community through the official Wylie's Theatre Awards ceremony.
These students have the opportunity to earn points for their involvement in the Groves Performing Arts Company's main stage productions. The number of points awarded is based on the level of responsibility within each production.
For instance, earning a lead role in a musical would grant 3 points, while a supporting role would earn 2 points, and being part of the chorus would earn 1 point. Once a student accumulates 10 points, they become eligible for recognition and potential future opportunities within the theater program.
