"Courageous Persuaders Scholarship 2023 is a unique and influential video scholarship competition that was created to make a difference in tragic statistics related to the dangers of drinking and driving and distracted driving. It was built upon the premise that older high school students have a tremendous influence over their young middle school peers, and if used efficiently and positively, this influence would make a difference in the tragic traffic statistics seen in young adults. Oakland Schools K-12 Career Readiness Department is sponsoring a student essay contest developed to promote awareness, exploration, and preparation associated with five career pathways: Information Technology, Health, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction and TMLE (transportation, mobility, logistics, energy).
